“Tyranny, like hell, is not easily conquered.” Thomas Paine

Yesterday I posted an article from Mary Elizabeth Hanchey — Preacher, Author. It pains me she was harassed for trying to help her community. Unfortunately, harassment is not confined to her page and can be found in various other places. I’ve observed people being subjected to abuse and bullying for simply expressing different ideas or not believing in conspiracy theories. How do they know they “won the debate?” They see that they have been unfriended on a social platform? Not allowing abuse to continue is not a form of fawning, its setting boundaries. Yes! Everyone, it’s fine to block, limit or unfriend those who disrespect the values of your freedom.

Christians have attacked their own for trying to help those of their own flock. So it poses the question, what is a Christian? Is this confusion a result of brainwashing?

During the 1960s, the KGB carried out some captivating psychological experiments. The KGB learned that if they bombarded human subjects with fear messages nonstop, most of the subjects would be brainwashed to believe the false message in two months or less. No amount of clear information, shown to the contrary, can change their mind. Have we reached a point where everyone attacks others for having an opinion? The state of our country is sick. Cults use fear tactics to brainwash and control subjects.

Steven Hassan from the Freedom of Mind resource center explains how Authoritarian control utilizes this. People often view mind control as a vague, mysterious process that’s hard to define. Mind control involves methods like hypnosis and thought-stopping that affect a person’s thoughts, emotions, and behaviors.

Steven Hassan developed the BITE Model to describe cults’ specific methods to recruit and maintain control over people. “BITE” stands for Behavior, Information, Thought, and Emotional control. The BITE model should be used within the Influence Continuum Model to help determine authoritarian control. Not every group or relationship uses every one of these. Some are universal such as deception (Information control), indoctrinating people to distrust critics and former members, or installing phobias to make people afraid of questioning or leaving.” I highly recommend downloading his PDF from his website.

Kathleen E. Taylor is a popular science author and a research scientist in the Department of Physiology, Anatomy, and Genetics at the University of Oxford. In her book Brainwashing, She explains that repetition is an integral part of brainwashing techniques because connections between neurons become stronger when exposed to incoming signals of frequency and intensity. She argues that people in their teenage years and early twenties are more susceptible to persuasion.

Thomas Paine believed that it was the government’s duty to protect religious freedom. A man should discard the narrowness of soul and selfishness of principle, traits that the ungenerous often cling to. He firmly and sincerely believed that the Almighty intends for there to be a diversity of religious opinions among us. It affords a larger field for our Christian kindness. Were we all of one way of thinking, our religious dispositions would want matter for probation. I see the different denominations among us as being like siblings in the same family, only differing in their names. He said.

It may be wise to listen to the sediments of our forefathers and forewomen. “And now, I ask you to rise up with earnest, honest purpose, and go forward in the way of right, fearlessly, as independent human beings, responsible to God alone for the discharge of every duty, for the faithful use of every gift, the good Father has given you” ~Susan B. Anthony

However, even during her time, it was not perfect. Women didn’t have their rights and the slaves were just being freed. Was returning to a more perfect union the better choice? Today they chant “Make America Great Again” but was it? How great was it in the 1950s when segregation existed, and male co-signers were required for women’s checking accounts? Women didn’t have the right to choose, and those rights are being taken as this article is being written. NO! Let’s not go back. Today women are losing rights once again, rights that our forefathers and forewomen fought for. How soon have we forgotten that loved ones were laid upon an altar for freedom for humanity? We should not let their memory be in vain. NO! We want something better! We want a better America. We want the Freedom and Liberty that our founding fathers intended. An America that is moving forward not backward. An America where we are not influenced by one party or one religion. An America where each individual is treated with dignity and respect.

“Forget conventionalisms; forget what the world will say, whether you are in your place or out of your place; think your best thoughts, speak your best words, do your best works, looking to your own conscience for approval.” ~Susan B Anthony
